Teaching Competency Development Initiative
The APSEM Teaching Competency Development Initiative (TCDI) is a collaborative capacity-building program that engages senior teachers in developing practical, context-sensitive training modules for junior educators. Through cross-institutional collaboration, the initiative supports the improvement of teaching quality and the development of a Common Teaching Competency Framework for post-secondary education providers in Myanmar and its border regions.
Kick-Off Workshop: Quality Assurance in Higher Education
This five-session webinar series covers quality assurance in post-secondary education, focusing on various stakeholder perspectives, external and internal mechanisms, self-study and accreditation processes, and strategies for improving teaching, learning, and research quality. Faculty and staffs associated with internal quality assurance development at their own institution or program joined the sessions.
GA: Building Foundations, Strengthening Leadership
The APSEM 2026 General Assembly brought together representatives from 23 institutions to review progress, set strategic priorities, and strengthen collective leadership in post-secondary education. Discussions focused on quality assurance, teaching competency development, research collaboration, governance, and institutional capacity building. The Assembly endorsed key resolutions and commitments to advance quality, collaboration, and sustainability across the sector.
